The project
A trades website built to win local enquiries
Bowland Damp Proofing needed a modern, professional website that presents its services clearly and turns local searches into enquiries. We designed and built a custom Webflow site focused on clarity and credibility, then paired it with local SEO foundations and a properly optimised Google Business Profile.

What was the challenge?
Trust decides who gets the callA homeowner with a damp problem picks up the phone to the company that looks most credible in the few minutes they spend searching, and for a trades business that judgement happens on Google long before anyone meets on site. The old presence did not reflect the standard of the work, and it gave a customer no clear path from a worry to an enquiry.
The site had two jobs: explain the services in plain language a worried homeowner can follow, and look like the safe choice for something as consequential as the fabric of your house.
How did we approach it?
A Webflow build with local SEO foundationsWe designed and built the site in Webflow: fast to load, clean to read, and easy for the business to update without a developer. Each service got its own clearly written page, with the credentials and photographs that let a visitor judge the work, and an enquiry path that is never more than one tap away on a phone, where most of these searches happen.
Alongside the build we laid the local SEO foundations and optimised the Google Business Profile, so the business shows up when people across Lancashire and Cumbria search for damp proofing and property preservation, and looks right when they find it.
The result
Found by the people already searching
Google Business Profile views after optimisation
The visibility translated into what matters: enquiries from customers actively searching for damp proofing and property preservation across Lancashire and Cumbria, arriving through a website that presents the business at the standard of its work.

Miles and Emma at Digital Otter were absolutely fantastic in the building of our new business website. We are so pleased with it, as enquiries are already coming in, and the attention to detail of how we wanted to look was superb. We are looking forward to how the website helps move our business forward for 2026, and their continued support and advice has been so helpful too. We can't thank them enough for the guidance, and most of all the end result, just what we needed for our business.
From the studio
The website and the profile are one system
For a local trades business, the website and the Google Business Profile do one job between them. The profile gets you seen by people searching nearby, and the website convinces them you are the safe choice. Optimising one without the other leaves enquiries on the table, which is why we built both sides of this project together.
